The United States will not supply Ukraine with missile systems that can reach Russian territory, US President Joe Biden said, Reuters reports.

Ukraine wanted a longer range system (MLRS) that could launch a barrage of missiles hundreds of miles away.

CNN and The Washington Post reported on Friday that the Biden administration is leaning towards sending this and a highly mobile artillery missile system known as HIMARS as part of a larger military aid package to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian government has urged the West to provide more long-range weapons to turn the tide of the war. US officials have said that deliveries of such weapons systems are being actively considered.
