The Azerbaijani authorities organized another “excursion” for foreign diplomats to the historical Armenian region of Karvachar, which is called “Kelbajar” in Azerbaijan.

They were informed about the construction of a tunnel on the Toganaly-Kelbajar-Istisu-Lachin highway, APA reports. During the visit, representatives of the diplomatic corps will get acquainted with the Kalbajar-1 hydroelectric power station, the Murovdag tunnel under construction, the mosque in the city of Kalbajar, the Flag Square, the local history museum, ancient stone statues, the building of the chess school and the Istisu sanatorium.

The visit to Karvachar is already the 9th one. More than 80 diplomats and military representatives from more than 50 countries and 10 international organizations are taking part in the trip.

"The purpose of the visit is to familiarize the diplomats with the traces of crimes, atrocities committed by the armed forces of Armenia in the city of Kalbajar during the occupation," Azerbaijani media write.

he Azerbaijani population of Karvachar left the region in the 90s as a result of the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh. It is noteworthy that foreign ambassadors did not bother to get acquainted with the atrocities committed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh and Armenia no later than in 2020.
