Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Diplomacy Laura Lohman.
According to APA, “the parties discussed the Southern Gas Corridor. They talked about Azerbaijan's role in Europe's energy security and diversification of gas supplies.
The sides exchanged views on increasing Azerbaijan's gas exports to Europe. It was noted at the meeting that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States have successfully developed in various areas, and the continued assistance of the U.S. Government to Azerbaijan in the implementation of the global energy projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan project, was highly valued.
Extensive works carried out in Azerbaijan in the fields of electricity and renewable energy were mentioned. The importance of the Baku International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition was highlighted during the talks, and it was noted that this event contributes to the expansion of international cooperation in the field of energy.”
