The head of Interpol has warned of a possible surge in arms trafficking after the end of the war in Ukraine, AP reported.

Interpol Secretary General Jurgen Stock said he has "no doubt" that arms trafficking will increase. “We have seen that in the Balkans region,” Stock said. “We have seen that in theaters in Africa that, of course, organized crime groups try to exploit this chaotic situation, availability of weapons and even weapons that are used by the military.”

Stock urged the 195 Interpol member countries to actively use available databases that can help track and trace weapons, such as those stolen in another country. “No country in our region can handle this alone because the criminals I'm talking about operate on a global scale,” he said.
