Iran and Azerbaijan have reached agreements on the development of joint energy fields in the Caspian Sea in the form of a joint committee. Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oudji announced this after a meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
The capacities of Iranian contractors will be used in the development of oil and gas fields, he said, Mehr reports.
Mustafayev referred to the successful trilateral gas transportation cooperation between Iran, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, noting that cooperation in the energy sector can lead to sustainable development in the region.
He announced the creation of a joint research task force in the field of energy development of the two countries.
