Sweden and Finland should clearly show their refusal to support the PKK for joining NATO, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during phone talks with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

The parties discussed the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO. President Erdogan said that Turkey's concerns about Sweden and Finland joining NATO are based on legal requirements. President Erdogan noted that both countries must clearly demonstrate that they have renounced their support for terrorism, lifted sanctions on Turkey and are ready to show solidarity with the alliance, the Turkish president's office told reporters.

Stoltenberg noted that the expectations of Turkey, which is a key ally, must be met.
