A trilateral meeting of Iran, Iraq and Turkey on the issue of water rights in Baghddad, the Minister of Water Resources of Iraq, Mahdi Rashid al-Hamdani noted, Mehrreported.

He said that in the near future it is planned to hold a meeting with representatives of Iran and Turkey in Baghdad to discuss Iraqi water rights. He did not name the date of the meeting.

According to him, Baghdad continues consultations with neighboring countries on water resources, and a special envoy of the Turkish president will visit Iraq, but the exact date has not yet been determined.

The Iraqi official expressed hope that a trilateral meeting with Iran and Turkey would soon take place to secure a fair share of Iraq's water resources.
