Flights between Makhachkala and Baku have been canceled at the initiative of the Azerbaijani authorities, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the press service of the Dagestan airport.

"The flights between Makhachkala and Baku have been canceled at the initiative of the Azerbaijani authorities. The Azerbaijani aviation authorities have revoked the Utair airline's permit to fly on this route," the airport reported.

Flights from Makhachkala to Baku were to be operated from 3 June, after the resumption of air links.

After the start of Russia's military operation in Ukraine, Bermuda suspended the airworthiness certificates of Russian carriers with the codes of the Bermuda register. Utair transferred all of its 50 aircraft to the Russian register.
