Zabihullah Mujahid, deputy minister of culture and information in the Taliban-formed interim government of Afghanistan, said on Monday that the subject of human rights is being raised to achieve political goals.

“The world is raising human rights issues for some of its political purposes. You see that, compared to last year, the rights of every person are respected and our courts are trying to solve problems,” Mujahid said, quoted by the Afghan Ariana News TV channel. “They raise the issue of human rights violations, but they have no evidence.”

Meanwhile, the Taliban spokesman urged countries in the region and the world to start a formal dialogue with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the name of the state used by the Taliban) and cooperate with the country's new government instead of expressing concerns about problems without evidence.
