Norway has handed Ukraine 22 self-propelled howitzers to help it "withstand Russian attacks."

"The development in the war in Ukraine now suggests that it is necessary to also donate heavier artillery and weapons’ systems," said Norwegian Minister of Defence, Bjørn Arild Gram.

The Norwegian Army donated M109 artillery pieces, which are long-range weapons, after recently replacing them with new artillery pieces from South Korea.

The United States, the Netherlands and Germany also donated howitzers to Ukraine.
