Iran arrested 13 people who robbed a bank over the weekend in Tehran, Tasnim reported.

Three of the robbers fled to Turkey after the crime, where they were apprehended by local police.

The robbery took place last Sunday, the attackers broke into the Melli Bank branch in Tehran, where they took 168 rented safety deposit boxes.

According to Tehran Prosecutor Ali Saleh, large amounts of stolen property were found.

He also added that 10 suspects have been apprehended in Tehran and the country's northern provinces, with three of them apprehended in neighboring Turkey.

A large number of stolen items were found in a car belonging to one of the thieves at Imam Khomeini Airport.
