Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a phone conversation with Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra today.
The Armenian and Dutch Ministers of Foreign Affairs expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of the political dialogue between the two countries, close cooperation in various spheres, as well as high and high-level reciprocal visits, the Armenian MFA said.
In this context, the sides highlighted the consistent implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the Netherlands.
Minister Mirzoyan underscored the support of the Netherlands to the large-scale reforms program being implemented in Armenia and expressed hope that the established effective cooperation between the sides would continue.
Hoekstra, for his part, praised Armenia's considerable progress in democratic development.
In the context of the development of economic cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands the activation of contacts between the business circles of the two countries and implementation of joint programs were noted.
During the phone conversation, the sides also touched upon a number of regional and international security issues.
Minister Mirzoyan presented the Armenian side's position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the processes aimed at the establishment of peace and stability in the region and the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs highly assessed the adoption of about two dozen resolutions by the parliament of the Netherlands condemning the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh.
The humanitarian problems that arose in Artsakh after the 44-day war were mentioned. The Foreign Ministers of the two countries highlighted the need to repatriate Armenian prisoners of war and civilians illegally kept in Azerbaijan. The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the need to preserve the Armenian cultural and religious heritage in the territories under Azerbaijani control.
Minister Mirzoyan also briefed his counterpart on the latest developments in the Armenian-Turkish settlement process.
