BAKU. - Iran supplies heroin to Azerbaijan, reports Azerbaijani Azadlig. According to the source, 24.4 grams of heroin was found with a resident of the Azerbaijani Salyan city Rufet Salakhov during inspection at the customs point of Astara.

During the search of a bus, owned by a citizen of Iran Ferid Resul, customs officers found a total of 295.88 grams of heroin hidden in three pairs of shoes.

During another inspection about 5,938 grams of heroin was found with a resident of Lenkoran city Emin Akhmedov.

Azadlig stresses that in recent years the joint operations carried out by employees of the State Customs Committee and the Border Guard Service on the Iranian-Azerbaijani border revealed several attempts of drug smuggling into Azerbaijan.
