The European Union plans to propose a new package of sanctions against Russia in the coming weeks, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

Earlier Bloomberg reported that the proposal may include restrictions on imports of gold, measures to correct previous sanctions and additional blacklists of individuals and legal entities.

Discussions on mechanisms to limit oil prices are ongoing and are unlikely to come into force in the near future. Some member states are pushing for more EU sanctions affecting gas, but the vast majority of countries have little desire to do so.
