The number of American voters ready to support the nomination of White House leader Joe Biden in the presidential election of 2024, has fallen to a record low, The Hill reported.

According to a joint Yahoo News-YouGov poll, only 18% of Americans approve of the U.S. leader's plans for reelection, while 64% of respondents opposed his participation in the election.

As noted by The Hill, for the first time, the number of opponents of Biden's reelection exceeded the number of supporters of a second term for the president in the ranks of his own Democratic Party. Thus, 41% of Democratic respondents oppose the U.S. president running again in 2024, while 35% support the plan.

However, Biden is still in the lead as a possible Democratic nominee, cited as such by 27% of respondents among Democratic Party supporters. In second place is "someone else" at 20%, and in third place is U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris at 19%. At the same time, 30% of Democratic respondents are still undecided on who should speak for the party instead of Biden.

As for who may become the Republican Party's nominee in the 2024 elections, so far the former U.S. President Donald Trump is gaining the most ratings here - 60%. The study separately emphasizes that Biden currently surpasses his predecessor in the level of support among Americans, receiving 44 percent approval compared to Trump's 43 percent.
