Chinese army will conduct significant military exercises and training activities, including live-fire exercises, in six regions surrounding the island of Taiwan from Thursday to Sunday, the newspaper said on Twitter.

The statement about the drills comes amid a visit to the island by Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.
