YEREVAN. - The Armenian Football Federation is unaware that an Armenian football player with fake documents was detained in Cyprus, Spokesperson for Armenian Football Federation Tigran Israelyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“He may be a former football player,” Israelyan said, adding it is yet unclear what football team A. Ayvazyan plays. He failed to say anything judging only by the football player’s name and surname. However, Israelyan  ruled out the detainee could be a national player of Armenian national football team.

As reported earlier, Armenian Consul in Cyprus Liana Grigoryan confirmed the information. However, she found it difficult to provide further details, confirming only the player is some A. Ayvazyan.
