Russia sent a request for an urgent UN Security Council meeting on the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP tomorrow, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyanski said.

"Due to continued Ukrainian provocations against the Zaporizhzhia NPP, we have requested an urgent UN Security Council meeting on the "threats to international peace and security" agenda item. We have asked UN Secretary General Guterres to address it. The meeting was scheduled for 10 p.m. Moscow time on August 23.

The next day, at 5 p.m. Moscow time, there will be another meeting on Ukraine requested by Western countries. Today's meeting on international security will surely not be without Ukrainian themes.

Thus, the UN Security Council will be discussing various aspects of the Ukrainian crisis for three days in a row this week, to varying degrees," Polyansky wrote in his Telegram channel.
