Investigative and procedural actions are held to find out the circumstances of the murder of a 35-year-old Arzakan villager and an attempted murder of a 57-year-old resident of the same village as part of the criminal proceedings under investigation by the Charentsavan investigative department of the Kotayk regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

According to the press service of the Investigative Committee, the signal of the attempted murder was received from a resident of the same village at about 05:40 on August 27. The woman reported that around 03:30 their neighbor, a 46-year-old man, got into their bedroom through an open window, beat her husband and stabbed him several times. The woman was also stabbed in the right elbow area. Then, the man fled, throwing the knife. A criminal case was initiated under part 1 of Article 44-155 and part 1 of Article 207 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

As a result of the necessary measures undertaken within the frames of the criminal proceeding, the body of the man's wife was found on the bed in the bedroom of the 46-year-old man's residence, with her throat partially cut. A criminal case was filed under Article 155, Part 2, Point 9 of the RA Criminal Code, which was joined with the aforementioned criminal case.

Two knives were withdrawn as a weapon, two people were questioned and forensic expertise was ordered. Measures have been taken to locate the 46-year-old man. The investigation continues.
