A court in the Lida district of Belarus recognized as extremist social media materials of the virtual state of Veyshnoria, which was invented by the organizers of the Russian-Belarusian exercise  Zapad 2017 as a fictitious aggressor state, the Belarusian human rights center Viasna reported.

The list of extremist accounts of Veshnoria on Youtube, Telegram, VKontakte, Facebook (the company that owns Meta is recognized as an extremist organization), Instagram (the company that owns Meta is recognized as an extremist organization), Odnoklassniki and TikTok.

In 2017, the Internet community jokingly invented its own Ministry of Foreign Affairs, currency, state symbols, and virtual passports for Veyshnoria. The website of the fictional state published a historical note which states that "in prehistoric times, a tribe of proto-Veyshnorians lived in peace and harmony in the vast expanses of Hyperborea and Atlantis.

The authors of the website call the exercise  Zapad 2017 a turning point in the history of Veyshnoria, which "turned some cogs in the minds of Veyshnorians and forced them out of the depths of 'Inner Veyshnoria.

According to the fictional state's official website, it has 19,000 citizens.

In addition to Veyshnoria, which was conventionally located in the western part of Belarus, the organizers of  Zapad 2017 invented Vesbaria, placed on the territory of Lithuania and Latvia, and Lubenia, which was placed on the territory of Lithuania and Poland.
