Two earthquakes struck in Liechtenstein Thursday, just as lawmakers in the Alpine principality were discussing the pros and cons of earthquake insurance, AP reported.

Lawmaker Bettina Petzold-Maehr warned that the likelihood of all Liechtenstein citizens being affected by the country's earthquake was high when the first small quake struck around 2 p.m.

Petzold-Maehr started laughing until the second earthquake, which visibly shook the boardroom, struck.

"This is getting a bit much, you never know if there’ll be aftershocks,” speaker Albert Frick said, announcing a 15-minute recess.

A magnitude 4 earthquake hit Liechtenstein, located between Switzerland and Austria, Thursday afternoon, according to the German Geosciences Research Center.

Liechtenstein police reported no injuries or damage and the earthquake's magnitude was 3.9.

Liechtenstein has a population of just under 39,000 people and an area of 160 square kilometers.
