Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried had a telephone conversation.
The two sides exchanged views on the situation in the region, including efforts to normalize relations and issues on the bilateral agenda, APA reported, citing the Foreign Ministry.
Minister Ceyhun Bayramov referred to the August 31, 2022 meeting in Brussels between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, European Union Council President Charles Michel and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which instructed the foreign ministers to prepare the texts of the draft peace treaty, and said that Azerbaijan was ready for this.
The minister also brought to the attention of the opposite side that Azerbaijan was taking consistent steps to advance the peace agenda.
During the telephone conversation, views were also exchanged on issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda as well as other topics of mutual interest. An agreement was expressed for further continuation of bilateral contacts, the statement said.
