The government of Armenia proposes to ratify another agreement signed between the governments of Armenia and Belarus. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paruyr Hovhannisyan announced this during the debates of the above-mentioned matter at Wednesday’s meeting of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia.

This agreement refers to visa-free mutual visits by Armenian and Belarusian nationals to one another’s countries. Thus, citizens of one these countries will be exempted from mandatory registration at the competent authorities of the other country within 30 days from the date of entry into that country.

"In case of staying for more than 30 days, the citizen will be required to register at the competent authorities—according to the legislation of the country where he is located," explained the Armenian deputy FM.

According to the Armenian government, the ratification of the aforementioned agreement will facilitate the mechanisms for mutual visa-free travel for Armenian and Belarusian nationals.

After a relatively short debate, this law initiative was approved by the aforementioned parliamentary committee.
