Albania has accused Iran of an attempted cyberattack against the Albanian public services service and cut off diplomatic relations with the Islamic republic, Albania Daily News reported, citing the country's prime minister Edi Rama.

All Iranian diplomats were ordered to leave Albania within 24 hours.

This decision was notified in an official note to the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, all diplomatic and technical and administrative personnel, including security personnel, who were ordered to leave the territory of the Republic of Albania within 24 hours, the Albanian prime minister said.

According to Albania, Iran tried to carry out a cyber attack against public services on July 15, including allegedly financing various groups for this purpose, the purpose of the cyber attack was allegedly to paralyze systems and steal government data.
