Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan said that the opening of roads poses no threat to Armenia and the Syunik region, but it will provide additional guarantees of stability and security. His remarks came during a meeting with the Armenian community in Vladivostok.

"Another thing is that Azerbaijani speech sometimes leaks expressions revealing certain threats. For example, they talk about a corridor. I want to make it clear that we will not give anyone a corridor through Armenian territory. But we will give and open the road, and we are ready to do so at any moment.

We also passed the following proposal: as soon as Azerbaijan accepts these proposals, a specific document can be signed on their basis and the agreement can be implemented very quickly. This does not pose any threat. The opening of the road is good for Armenia, as well as for Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Azerbaijan wants the communications in the region to open in a way that Armenia will remain in the blockade. That is the threat," Pashinyan said.

According to him, under the opening of communications, Yerevan understands that Armenia receives a railway connection to Russia through the territory of Azerbaijan, as well as a road connection to Russia. "Today, Armenia's entire economy depends on the road through Upper Lars. Especially now, when due to the situation around Ukraine, part of the freight traffic through the Black Sea has also shifted and goes through Upper Lars," the Prime Minister concluded.
