Orientalist Sergey Melkonyan stated that the Armenian-Azerbaijani processes are wrong from the point of view of all the theories. His remarks came during the presentation of the report "Negotiation Process on Nagorno-Karabakh".

In his assessment, the level of Armenophobia has reached its peak, and Aliyev says the conflict is solved. Although if you want to solve the conflict, you have to soften the rhetoric and reduce the level of hatred.

"You need one side for war and two sides for peace, as well as political will. Today for peace there is only one side and no political will," the orientalist added. Azerbaijan constantly voices threats, does not show any constructive approach, and unilateral concessions, he is convinced, will only complicate the conflict.

"The processes, which started after February 24 (the conflict in Ukraine - ed.), showed that national, not economic interests are a priority," Melkonyan noted.
