There is no question of using CSTO forces on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the organization hopes for a peaceful solution to the conflict. This was noted by Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), RIA Novosti reported.

"Let's not get ahead of events. I just want to say that on September 13, our heads of state unanimously declared that the problem that exists today between Armenia and Azerbaijan should be solved by political and diplomatic methods," Sidorov said in response to a reporters’ question about whether there are plans to send CSTO peacekeeping troops to the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

"There is no question of the use of military force, including the CSTO, neither on September 13, nor yesterday, nor today and, I believe, nor in the near future," Sidorov emphasized.

He recalled that the two sides agreed on a ceasefire.

"We hope that from now on as well the processes will be resolved peacefully, without the use of weapons and force," added the chief of the CSTO Joint Staff.
