Georgia will start production of unmanned reconnaissance drones together with a Polish company by the end of this year, the head of Georgian Ministry of Defense Juansher Burchuladze told journalists.

All the formal processes with the Polish company have been completed, the minister said.

Although Burchuladze did not name the Polish manufacturer, he pointed out that it is a very well-established private enterprise, and the products of this company are actively used in practice, Novosti-Georgia reported.

The head of Defense Ministry also said that Polish-Georgian production is created on the basis of Delta, a state military science and technology center.

For the first time Burchuladze told in his interview to TV channel Imedi that Georgia plans to establish drone production together with Poland. According to him, among other things, a training center will be created under the company, which will provide services to the Georgian Defense Forces.

The Minister also recalled that the Ministry of Defense and its partners have worked out a 10-year development concept, the main part of which consists of improving the air defense system. In this context, the department is planning to start procurements this year, which will last for four to five years. However, he did not specify what and from whom the Defense Ministry will buy.
