YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday called meeting on implemented policy, issues and their solutions for the new academic year starting on September 1.

The Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan and the chancellors of the Universities participated in the meeting, president’s press service informs Armenian Nesw-NEWS.am.

President Sargsyan believes that professionals working in the education spere should be re-qualified. Besides, cooperation should be established with famous universities, which will result in improving the education system in Armenia. Though Armenia has young people of great potential but majority of youth do not have the required qualities for the current job market.

Head of the chancellors’ council, Chancellor of the Yerevan State University Aram Simonyan presented the issues, which are universal for all the universities.

The chancellors offered to improve the quality of the university management, as well as and to modernize the labs. President ordered the minister of science and education to complete the issues and provide solutions in a possibly short period of time.
