U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's meeting with Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov began in New York.

Blinken began the meeting by expressing condolences to the families and relatives of those killed in Azerbaijan's latest aggression against Armenia. Blinken said they are encouraged by the fact that a cease-fire has been achieved and there have been no escalations over the past few days. During his conversations with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, both leaders said they were ready for peace. Strong sustained engagement is the best way for all, no military solution to the crisis between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The U.S. will do all it can to support these efforts, Blinken said.
