Thirty-two members of an organized crime group linked to the Italian mafia "ndrangheta" have been arrested in Spain, Europol reported.

The criminal group, whose members are described as very violent, is believed to be linked to trafficking cocaine and marijuana between Spain and Italy, transporting drugs hidden on speedboats and reinvesting criminal profits in Spanish real estate.

Among those arrested were Italians, Albanians and Hungarians.

Authorities seized 18 kilograms of amphetamine, 4.5 kilograms of cocaine, firearms, 300,000 euros in cash and 600 cannabis plants.

The operation took place on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza and involved 500 law enforcement officers from the Spanish Civil Guard, Italian Carabinieri and the Financial Guard, supported by European police and justice authorities, Europol and Eurojust.
