Russia has agreed to the appointment of Lynne Tracy as the new US Ambassador to Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced.

"We have given the consent. They [i.e., the US] had asked for consent for this already some time ago," Ryabkov told reporters.

On September 14, it became known that the US submitted to Russia Tracy’s nomination as the new head of the US diplomatic mission in Moscow.

Earlier, Tracy was nominated by US President Joe Biden.

Currently, Lynne Tracy serves as the US Ambassador to Armenia.
