YEREVAN. – Armenia will have a scientific board of an accelerator program till the end of the year. The board will include the heads of German, Swiss, U.S., Japanese and Italian accelerator centers, head of the state committee of the Armenian Education and Science Samvel Harutyunyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The board will in total have five foreign members and 3 or 4 local professionals.

“Heads of such centers operating abroad will support Armenian professionals with their experience and advice. Besides, various accelerator issues will be solved in Armenia,” Harutyunyan said.

Armenia has many qualified professionals. Moreover, Armenia will not have a lack of specialists till the end of 2016 when the Candle program ends. Candle (Center for the Advancement of Natural Discoveries using Light Emission) is a program, which provides the source of light on the basis of accelerator-storage complex of the third generation with electron energy of 2 billion electron volts.

There are more than 40 sources of light exploiting in the world, which are mainly set up in the U.S., West Europe and Japan. Post Soviet states, Eastern Europe and the Middle East has no such sources. Based on the technology, the annual benefit for the world economy makes $750 billion.

Experts believe that the accelerator worth $100 million, while the Armenian government is ready to invest only the quarter of the amount.
