TBILISI. - Georgian famous director Robert Sturua believes that his statement could not serve for firing him from the Tbilisi Dramatic Theatre.

“My statement could not serve for the dismissal. I was fired because of my latest radical and critical statement, as Georgian authorities do not like criticism. Regarding my statement that I do not want my president to be an Armenian, I do not think it was offensive. If any Armenian says he wants his president to be Georgian, I will apologize,” stated Sturua, RIA Novosti reports.

The Georgian director was fired from the post of the artistic director of the Tbilisi State Dramatic Theatre after Shota Rustaveli. The director believes his dismissal is based on his criticism of the state authorities.
