The U.S., Ukraine, and Poland are the main beneficiaries of sabotage on Nord Stream, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, Interfax reported.

"The beneficiary, the beneficiary - it is clear enough, there is no need to go into detail here. After all, the geopolitical importance of the remaining gas systems increases - they run through the territory of Poland, Yamal-Europe - through the territory of Ukraine (two streams), all built in due time by Russia at its own expense, as well as the United States, of course, which can now supply energy resources at high prices," Putin said, speaking at the energy forum "Russian Energy Week" in Moscow.

Under these conditions, the head of state said, it is now possible to impose on European countries in large quantities liquefied natural gas from the United States, which is clearly inferior in competitiveness to Russian pipeline gas. "And the price of American LNG is much higher, and everyone was well aware of this before, well, even more so now," Putin added.

According to him, "there are additional risks, in addition to price indicators." 

The president of Russia also called the emergency at Nord Stream an act of international terrorism and a very dangerous precedent. He said the organizers of these attacks "are destroying the infrastructure of competitors, depriving consumers of cheap energy resources and forcing them to buy all this at much higher prices." "Obviously, this is someone who seeks to permanently sever ties between Russia and the European Union, to destroy the political subjectivity of Europe," the president said.
