At a briefing in Brussels Peter Stano said that EU had always said that the consequences of any use of nuclear weapons in the situation around Ukraine would be the most serious and the countries of the Union were preparing for any eventuality.

In the case of the use of nuclear weapons it would be a complete reversal of the situation. This has been said many times by representatives of the EU, NATO and other representatives, he noted.

Earlier, Eurodiplomat Josep Borrell said that an attack against Ukraine with nuclear weapons would cause a strong military response from the North Atlantic Alliance, the European Union and the United States. According to him, the response will not be nuclear, but it will be powerful enough to lead to the destruction of the Russian army.
