Nothing can hinder the supply of Iranian arms to Armenia, Iranian MP of Armenian descent Robert Beglaryan told NEWS.am. He reiterated that nothing can prevent it. "Iran is likely to express its desire to discuss the issue and be useful to Armenia. In the current situation, I don't think it's not worth negotiating, groping for sentiments on both sides on this issue.

At the moment I cannot say whether there have been negotiations about it at the level of the relevant officials of the two countries. I do not rule out that there are and will be opportunities to supply Iranian weapons to Armenia," the deputy said.

Earlier Indian media reported that the Indian Defense Ministry has signed a major order to export missiles, rockets and ammunition to Armenia. It was reported that the arms contract was signed by the governments of the two countries in early September.

In the next few months Armenia is expected to receive over $240 million worth of arms. The order includes the first-ever export of local Pinaka multiple rocket launchers, already in service with the Indian army. As part of the package deal, India will also supply anti-tank missiles and a range of ammunition to Armenia. This is not the first time that weapon systems have been exported to Armenia. In 2020, India delivered four Swathi radars to the country.

These radars, designed to Indian Army specifications, are used to track approaching artillery shells, mortars and missiles, as well as to pinpoint the location of enemy launchers and positions. Radars have been used successfully on the borders of Pakistan and China.
