YEREVAN. - Criminal Case filed over death of Aghasi Abrahamyan is under personal control of Armenian Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, said MOD press secretary David Karapetyan.

Asked who might be responsible for Aghasi Abrahamyan’s murder and what the latest developments are, Karapetyan said that two citizens have already been detained.

“Two soldiers have been detained over the case, one of them is an officer. We carry out large scale operational work to reveal all details about the incident. Tomorrow, Deputy Defense Minister Major-General Vladimir Gasparyan will visit the scene,” he said.

In the interests of the preliminary investigation and the safety of family members of detainees, the names of those arrested are kept secret so far. Preliminary investigation is underway and new detentions are possible in coming days, MOD representative added.
