The Chamber of Deputies of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay condemned Azerbaijan's invasion of internationally recognized territory of the Republic of Armenia, reports Armenpress.

"Taking into account the escalation of clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the bombing of Armenian territory by Azerbaijan,

The Chamber of Deputies of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay:

Expresses its condemnation of Azerbaijan's invasion of the internationally recognized territory of the Republic of Armenia,

Expresses its solidarity with the Armenian people affected by the Azerbaijani attack on the sovereign territory of Armenia, as well as expresses its condolences for the Armenian victims,

Expresses its concern over the pressure and military clashes on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan,

Notes that with numerous records of war crimes committed by Azerbaijani military personnel against Armenian POWs, a full and impartial investigation is required, as stated by the US, France, the European Union, Russia, the UK and others.

Rejects the use of threats and force as a means of settling disputes.

It expresses the hope that the diplomatic negotiations launched between the two countries with the involvement of mediators from third countries will make it possible to reach an agreement on the basis of the implementation of international law and to ensure a lasting peace between the two countries, taking into consideration the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia.

Calls upon Armenia and Azerbaijan to observe a complete ceasefire based on the Trilateral Statement of 2020 and to resume the path of dialogue under the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group and other agreed channels, with the support and guarantees of the international community, in accordance with the principles of the United Nations, as also expressed in our Foreign Ministry's communication of 14.09.22," the statement reads.
