The European Union approved new sanctions against Iran, accusing the country of supplying drones to Russia, despite Tehran's repeated denials.

The Czech presidency of the EU Council tweeted that EU ambassadors had agreed to freeze the assets of three individuals and one entity suspected of supplying Iranian drones to Russia.

Later that day, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said the sanctioned entities were drone manufacturers and suppliers. "This is our clear response to the Iranian regime providing Russia with drones, which it uses to murder innocent Ukrainian citizens,” read a tweet from Fiala.
