The recent military exercises of the IRGC Ground Forces on the northern borders do not pose a threat to any neighboring country, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani announced.
He noted that these were pre-planned exercises as part of Iran's periodic military exercises and are not directed against any neighboring state.
"Neighbors are important to us, and developing relations with neighbors is a priority for us. The security of common borders is a strategic priority for Iran," he said, noting that Iran informs those who need to know about its exercises. "Fortunately, relations between Iran and Azerbaijan. are of a friendly nature. The Azerbaijani authorities have been previously informed about these exercises. We emphasize that the geopolitics and international borders of the region should not be changed," he noted.
