Gegham Manukyan, an MP from the "Armenia" bloc said that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan are lying. His remarks came during the debate on Tuesday.

He clarified: there is no law that military training camps are held for three months.

"The law stipulates only that a training camp can be held. The rest of the details are adopted in working order. One of the representatives from the ruling party said that the so-called change to a 25-day training camp for all persons liable for military service will not be adopted until February," Manukyan added.

According to the deputy, authorities also lied that 18-year old soldiers won't stand at the border and the border guards will be there instead.

He said that the authorities also lied on the issue of the payoff for 24 million drams in exchange for 4.5 months of service, explaining that there is no mention of 24 million drams in the bill.

"In addition, the authorities have not yet developed any document on the country's security strategy," the parliamentarian stressed.
