Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the "grain deal" had acquired a "risky character" due to the actions of Ukraine.
"In conditions when Russia says that it is impossible to guarantee the safety of navigation in these areas, of course, such a deal is hardly feasible, it acquires a different character, much more risky, dangerous and non-guaranteed," the Kremlin spokesman said, commenting on the latest actions by Ukraine (attack on Sevastopol - note).
According to him, Kiev's behavior led to the disruption of the deal, to the undermining of trust.
"Here we need to proceed from that, these are the actions of the Ukrainian side. They led to the deal under threat," the Kremlin spokesman said, noting that Moscow continues through diplomatic representations contacts with Turkey and the UN on the issue.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara would continue to comply with the terms of the "grain deal," despite Russia's hesitation.
