Russian President Vladimir Putin met today with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

During the meeting, he expressed hope for progress in the Karabakh settlement, RIA Novosti reported.

"We have to talk today about all these issues, and I hope that we will make progress...I very much expect that we will be able to make steps forward toward a settlement today," Putin said during talks with Pashinyan.

The leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan will hold a trilateral meeting in Sochi on Monday to discuss the Karabakh settlement and may also come up with a document that will form the basis of a future peace treaty.
