Former U.S. presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have filed a motion to recover $1.06 million from former President Donald Trump and his lawyers for filing an allegedly frivolous lawsuit against her that accuses her of trying to influence the results of the 2016 election, Bloomberg reported, citing Clinton's filing with the court.

According to the agency, the politician is seeking to recover this amount as compensation for legal costs and expenses incurred by her, her 2016 presidential campaign, and several other Democratic-affiliated defendants as a result of Trump's lawsuit against them.

According to the agency, Alina Hubba, one of Trump's attorneys, said the motion that Clinton filed was a provocative accusation.

In March 2022, Trump filed a lawsuit in U.S. federal court for the District of Florida against Hillary Clinton and Democratic Party leaders. He accused the politicians of orchestrating an unthinkable conspiracy, shaking the conscience and challenging the democratic foundations of the nation, in order to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.
