Dozens of international companies are poised to settle in the UAE amid a serious push to consolidate the country's status as a global technology hub, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani Al-Zeyoudi expressed hope that about 40 firms will announce their move to the Emirates by the end of the year, The National News reported.
The ambitious effort to expand business horizons is part of the NextGenFDI initiative, which aims to attract cutting-edge technology companies from around the world through a series of incentives. These include simplified licensing and financing, golden visas, commercial and residential lease incentives, relocation advice, cloud infrastructure and affordable education for families.
Al-Zeyoudi told The National about the program ahead of the Department of Economy's NextGen Talent Forum, a virtual forum where speakers from companies such as Google, Amazon and Meta will address young people around the country.
Some of these companies are focused on robotics, which Al-Zeyoudi said will increase efficiency and many areas of surveillance and monitoring in the country.
Another organization that moved to the UAE is producing lab-grown milk.
