Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has announced her resignation to Queen Margrethe II of Denmark after the parliamentary elections.
Danish Social Democrat Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who won Tuesday's general election by a narrow margin, said Wednesday she had tendered her resignation to the queen and would begin exploring the possibility of forming a coalition among political forces, Reuters reported.
Frederiksen had earlier announced plans to form a government based on a broad coalition.
On November 1, parliamentary elections were held in Denmark. According to the latest data, the 'red' bloc of center-left parties, which includes the Social Democratic Party, gets 90 mandates out of 179 in parliament. The center-right coalition has 73 mandates and the Moderate Party has 16.
