Belarus confirms its loyalty to its allied obligations in practice. Minsk has always consistently advocated a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, said the commentary of the official representative of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, Anatoly Glaz, published on the website of the ministry.
"You know, the Armenian Foreign Ministry has taken a very original position. Loyalty to its allied obligations has been confirmed by Belarus not in words, but in deeds throughout its history. The current difficult moment is one of them. It is unprofessional to question this obvious fact. Integrity is one of the features of our foreign policy. This is why our partners and allies can have confidence in us in the future. If other countries behaved the same way, many problems could be avoided. It is absolutely clear that the approaches voiced by the President of Belarus are not out of touch, but on the contrary - are based on reality, are clear and honest in an allied way. It is in this open way, without political games and intrigues, that questions should be discussed when we are talking about people's lives and destinies. At the summit, which, given the haste with which Armenia convened it, was held online, N.V. Pashinyan was present and gave all the necessary comments to his colleagues, the heads of states. Why this belated assessment by the Armenian Foreign Ministry? Let me remind you that the Belarusian side has consistently advocated the peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict, making significant efforts in all available formats, both multilateral and bilateral. Former and present leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia are grateful to the Head of the Belarusian state for his sincere desire for peace and prosperity of all peoples of the South Caucasus, for his personal contribution to the normalization of the Azerbaijani-Armenian relations. Therefore we recommend our friends and partners to carefully read and re-read the numerous speeches of the Belarusian head of state on this difficult but solvable issue," said Glaz.
Earlier, the Armenian Foreign Ministry commented on the statements of President Alexander Lukashenko on the role of the CSTO in the security of Armenia. The Foreign Ministry of Armenia considered the resonant statements of the Belarusian leader as non-alliance and out of touch with reality. The Foreign Ministry believes that these statements call into question Lukashenka's own commitments as a CSTO member.
