The United Arab Emirates in September tried to convince Saudi Arabia not to reduce oil production, writes The Wall Street Journal.

According to the newspaper, Abu Dhabi sent its national security adviser to Riyadh to convince Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud not to reduce oil production within the OPEC+ framework.

The Emirates feared a negative U.S. reaction to oil production cuts and that oil producers might be considered allies of Russia.
