The government of Latvia has prolonged the emergency regime on the border with Belarus until February 10, 2023, reports an Internet portal LSM.
An emergency regime has been in place on the Latvian-Belarusian border since 2021 because of an influx of more illegal migrants that year.
As the portal notes, the state of emergency has been extended in the Ludza, Krāslava and Augšdaugava regions, as well as in Daugavpils.
According to the portal, the Latvian Ministry of Justice opposed the extension of the situation.
